GJC Law’s Head of Family Law, Ms Gloria James-Civetta, presented a paper at the 19th World Conference of the International Society of Family Law (ISFL), held from 9 to 12 September 2026 at Pîrî Reis University in Istanbul, Türkiye.
Her paper, “Therapeutic Justice in Singapore: Re-Designing Family Law to Address Vulnerability,” shared a Singapore perspective on the development of Therapeutic Justice in family law and how the family justice system can respond to vulnerability in family disputes.
The conference, held under the theme “Family Law & Vulnerability,” brought together more than 260 academics, judges, legal practitioners and experts from 30 countries to discuss contemporary developments and challenges in family law.
The International Society of Family Law (ISFL) is an international scholarly association established in 1973 to support the study and discussion of family law and related disciplines. Its World Conference provides a forum for family law academics, judges and practitioners from different jurisdictions to exchange perspectives on the development of family law.
Ms James-Civetta received a Certificate of Participation recognising her presentation and contribution to the academic programme of the conference.
Her participation reflects GJC Law’s continued engagement with developments in family justice and the exchange of Singapore’s experience with the wider international family law community.
